Alum Cliffs Island

Paint Creek ducks out of its valley through Alum Cliffs Gorge, a narrow valley it cut while releasing pent-up lake water during one of the glacier's visits to Ross County. A good part of the gorge, all wilderness, is now part of Buzzard's Roost Preserve, a county park.
