A snowy landscape provides a view of a scattered farmstead surrounded by pastureland. Beyond it is rolling fields lined with bare trees, and beyond that subdivisions and roads. In the distance is a range of seven hills undercutting the sky.

Glenallan View

My "Glenallan View" which graced the 1987 county phone book cover illustrates one of the many scenic landscapes in Ross County. From atop a glacial moraine is visible the old valley of Paint Creek and the current valley of the North Fork of Paint Creek, where several housing developments sprawl. Forested bedrock hills hem in the valley. In the hazy distance are the seven hills of the Great Seal range, with Sugarloaf Mountain on the left.
