First Lieutenant Arthur MacArthur (1845-1912), who fought in the Civil War received the Congressional Medal of Honor.

General Douglas MacArthur (1880-1964), who fought in World War II, received the same medal.

They are the only father and son to each receive a Congressional Medal of Honor.
