About Calvary
 
  • Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), in the Southern Ohio Synod.
  • Established in the year 1900 in Chillicothe, Ohio, Calvary members were excited  to celebrate the 100 year anniversary in 2000.
  • Worship Schedule
    •   8:15 a.m.   Sunday Church Service
    •   9:30 a.m.   Sunday School (all ages) & Catechism
    • 10:45 a.m.   Sunday Church Service
    •   8:00 a.m.   Wednesday morning prayer service
    • Special Services are held during the Lenten and Advent Seasons
 


Beliefs

Lutherans are part of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church established by our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. We adhere to the truths of the Holy Scriptures and accept three ecumenical creeds - the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed and the Athanasian Creed.

We hold the doctrine of salvation by grace accepted through faith.
We believe in the Triune God: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; in the divinity and humanity of Jesus the Christ, and forgiveness of sins through the atoning work of Jesus as he suffered and died for us on teh cross and rose again for our justification. We believe in the resurrection of the dead to life eternal.

Lutherans celebrate two sacraments - Baptism and Holy Communion.
