Neon-lit circular large sign with name Zane Plaza, sheaf of wheat, and bundle of arrows in red; yellow sun rising over green hills; and large curved arrowhead underneath

Zane Plaza Neon

Neon-lit sign for the Zane Plaza shopping center in Chillicothe, Ohio, built about 1965. Name is from the one square mile of land here granted to Ebenezer Zane after he cut Zane's Trace across Ohio in 1797. Sun rising over hills with sheaf of wheat and bundle of arrows is from the Great Seal of Ohio, modeled after hills just to east. The arrowhead below has since been replaced with a plain flourescent-lit signboard.
