Eight students, sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary Ross
County Unit #62, and one sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary
Luther Giffin Unit #14, Bainbridge, are participating this week at
Buckeye Girls State.
The eight delegates sponsored by Unit #62 Auxiliary are:

Mimi Pierson, daughter of Ramie and Betsy Pierson,

Jessica Dixon, daughter of Don and Becky Dixon,

Kara Bobo, daughter of Phil and Jane Bobo, Southeastern
High School;
Megan Skaggs, daughter of Mark and Carrie Skaggs,
Southeastern High School;
Anna Bixler, daughter of Mark and Kathlena Bixler,
Pickaway-Ross Career Technology Center;
Sarah Aldenderfer, daughter of Terry and Vicki

The delegate sponsored by Unit #14 is Lindsay Donahue,
daughter of Carolyn E. Donahue of South Salem, Paint Valley High
School.
The annual session of Buckeye Girls State is under way this week
until Saturday at Ashland University. It is a fast-paced program of
mock government at the state, county and city levels. The main
objective of the Girls State program is to train young women, who
have completed their junior year in high school, in the duties,
rights and privileges of citizenship by providing students the
opportunity to actively participate in a democratic form of
government.
Co-sponsors for Unit #62 Auxiliary delegates are American Legion
Post #62, American Legion SAL, American Legion Color Guard, Tom
Straub-Just Meats, and Keith Jones-Paint Grill.
