The Sons of the American Legion (SAL) is a program of the American Legion that was established in 1932 to assist the American Legion with their programs and activities. The American Legion, The Sons of the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary form the "Legion Family" which boasts a combined total membership of nearly 4 million members. In 1919, the same year the American Legion was founded, Ross County Post 62 was formed in Chillicothe and since that time has partnered with the city and county to serve this nation’s veterans and promote patriotic values throughout the community. Along the way, SAL Squadron 62 has acted as the Legion’s alter-ego in preserving our American traditions, improving the quality of life for children, caring for veterans and their families, and teaching the fundamentals of good citizenship.
